Thanks to corporate partners and generous donors, The First Tee offers a variety of unique golf and leadership events and opportunities for participants who have stayed and advanced in The First Tee program. These opportunities, listed below, often become life-changing experiences for our youth participants as they can expand their horizons, meet new people and learn more about themselves. The Austin chapter has a long history of sending participants to national opportunities. Most of the events and programs below have a selection process that includes an application reviewed by a committee. There is no fee to participate if a student is selected to attend. For most opportunities, youth participants MUST BE high school age to apply and in some cases, a specific First Tee Level, age or grade is required. Parents should inquire with the chapter about applying for these opportunities. National Scholars Program

National Scholars Program

The Scholars Program is a distinction awarded to junior golfers of The First Tee who excel in academics, leadership, character development, and chapter and community involvement. Outstanding Participants Summit

The First Tee Outstanding Participant Leadership Summit is an interactive and educational event in which teen participants have the opportunity to develop and hone skills to become leaders in their chapters, schools and communities. The group is addressed by leaders and dignitaries. Read more

The First Tee Academies

The First Tee holds two academies each summer for teen participants wanting to focus on their golf and life skills: The First Tee Life Skills & Leadership Academy and The First Tee PLAYer Advanced Academy. One of The First Tee's most coveted events, The First The Nature Valley First Tee Open is an official Champions Tour event, the first of its kind, in which junior golfers from The First Tee play alongside Champions Tour players. Eighty one juniors are paired with 81 Champions Tour players and 162 amateurs as they compete for the pro-junior title at Pebble Beach Golf Links and Poppy Hills Golf Course.
